Reminder - October Education Night - Tonight, 17:30 hours.

Lithium-Ion Batteries, Electric Vehicles and Mega-batteries


Don't forget tonight we have our education night. Please register through the website. We currently have over 120 registered, which will be the highest participation we have ever had for an education night.



Presenter: Professor Paul Christensen is the Professor of Pure and Applied Electrochemistry at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England UK. He is considered a world-leading expert on Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery safety. He has conducted wide-ranging research and experiments on Li-ion batteries.

This presentation will cover Li-ion battery basics; the pros and cons of Li-ion batteries; the white vapour cloud and what happens when the vapour ignites; Electric Vehicles (EV); an overview of lithium battery energy storage system fires and explosions; and will include an in-depth analysis of a battery explosion that occurred on 19 April 2019 in the city of Surprise Arizona USA. This education night is not to be missed. Note: this presentation will not be recorded to view later.
