June Education Night - Thursday 15th June2023, 18:00 hours.

A change in wildfire patterns in South Western Sydney

HYBRID EVENT. After several years of digital presentations, we are finally going back to having an in person education night which will be held at the Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Headquarters in Greenacre NSW. This will give everybody the opportunity to network the ‘old-fashioned’ way.

For our interstate members or those that cannot make it on the night, don’t worry, a live digital presentation will also be available.

The pattern of wildland fires has changed in the Macarthur Zone from 2012 to 2023. This presentation will demonstrate how persistence in investigating, data collection and mapping each fire event, along with sharing information with NSW Police has led to a reduction of deliberate lit fires to be a positive outcome for the local community.
