The Victorian Association of Fire Investigators (VAFI) is conducting a training session on Wednesday 18th August 2021. This will be conducted from 18:30-19:45 hours.
The topic will be on Battery and Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and the common faults and fire behaviour.
The guest speakers are from CSIRO: Nathan White (Fire Engineering and Testing) and Thomas Ruether (Energy and Batteries).
The topics covered will be:
Overview of CSIRO fire testing and consulting capability
Demonstration of battery testing
Overview of CSIRO fire battery team department
Presentation on different battery types, hazards and protection systems
